About Olivenhain Farms

Olivenhain Farms is a nonprofit farm park in Encinitas that offers hands-on learning programs centered at The Heritage Ranch, home to the San Dieguito Heritage Museum. Visitors engage in farm-based activities that reconnect families with the land through direct experience with animals and agriculture. Playtime at the Ranch includes animal meet-and-greets, garden activities, crafts, and story-time, with children helping to plant gardens, gather eggs, wash clothes by hand, and play in a mud kitchen. Farm Kid Fridays is a drop-off camp for elementary ages six and above featuring interaction with miniature horses, goats, chickens, quail, rabbits, and a pig named Sweet Pea, alongside garden lessons and crafts. Living History Day immerses visitors in regional pioneer life through ten interactive sensory stations where families participate in activities like acorn grinding, butter making, and woodworking. The farm also hosts seasonal events, summer camps, tween programs, birthday parties, and custom field trips tailored to school groups and organizations.
