About Museum of North Texas History

The Museum of North Texas History in Wichita Falls invites visitors to explore exhibits spanning Native American heritage, frontier life, oil booms, military history, and regional growth. Guests view detailed handmade replicas of naval vessels, a scale replica of a Native American teepee, and Nat's Hats. The main museum occupies 18,500 square feet across the Ralph O. Harvey Jr. Exhibit Hall, Heritage Hall, and 15 other display rooms. A satellite exhibit called "Jenny to Jet" at Wichita Falls Regional Airport features an authentic Curtiss JN4-D biplane from pilot training and a T-38 jet from Sheppard Air Force Base. The museum offers permanent and rotating exhibits alongside educational programs and community events featuring food and music. Visitors explore at their own pace with staff and volunteer assistance available throughout the galleries.
