Museum of Indigenous People occupies historic stone buildings in Prescott's Armory Historic District, where visitors explore Indigenous cultures through galleries of pottery, textiles, and contemporary art alongside hands-on activities. The permanent collection includes polychrome jars depicting shamans from the Salado culture, food storage vessels from Prescott Culture people, sand paintings, and a buckskin vest. The HOOP Room features murals by Native artists depicting spiritual and cultural imagery. Visitors watch live pottery demonstrations by local artisans, attend elder storytelling events, and participate in corn-processing activities. The museum hosts an outdoor Indian Market featuring local Indigenous artists and musicians, and presents rotating exhibits on traditional and contemporary body art. Children ages zero through twelve receive free admission. The museum operates six days weekly and publishes admission prices online at museumofindigenouspeople.org, with discounted rates for students, seniors, and veterans. Group visits and guided tours are available by advance arrangement.
