About Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary

Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary sits on ten acres north of Prescott overlooking Willow Lake. Visitors walk naturally landscaped paths through enclosures housing large mammals, small mammals, hoofstock, birds, reptiles, invertebrates and amphibians. The Tarantula Grotto is a unique exhibit featuring tarantulas. Families bring picnics to covered pavilions, use the playground and splashpad, and visit the children's zoo area. The sanctuary offers Zoo Camp for ages six through twelve, with sessions where children learn about animals, participate in behind-the-scenes experiences, meet animals up close, make crafts and play animal-themed games. Special events include Zoo by Moonlight, Breakfast with the Animals and Walk on the Wild Side. A gift shop operates on-site. The sanctuary has served as Prescott's hometown zoo since 1988, prioritizing animal well-being through spacious off-display areas where animals can rest away from visitors.
