About MotherShip Studios

MotherShip Studios is a women-built and women-operated art space in San Marcos where visitors encounter working artist studios and community programming. Founded in 2020 by Courtney Peterson and Jacqueline Overby, the studio occupies an industrial warehouse location along Highway 80 and features a 360-square-foot gallery space surrounded by eight artist studios. The organization hosts Blast Suppers and organizes the San Marcos Studio Tour, an annual event that connects visitors with dozens of art spaces throughout the area. The team includes working artists, professors, university students, curators, and art advisors who develop various events and programs for the Central Texas arts community.
