Missiles and More Museum occupies the Historic Assembly Building in Topsail Beach, a structure built in 1946 that once housed a secret U.S. Navy missile program. Visitors explore exhibits dedicated to Operation Bumblebee, the guided missile testing program that operated on Topsail Island from 1946 to 1948. The museum features multiple permanent exhibits covering the island's rich history. The Barrier Island exhibit explains how Topsail Island formed, while the Pirates exhibit showcases ten notorious pirates including Blackbeard. The Women Airforce Service Pilots exhibit details the WASP program of the 1940s and the female pilots trained to fly American military aircraft. Additional exhibits cover the Osprey aircraft and its capabilities, as well as Camp Davis history. Schools, church groups and organizations can arrange special tours by contacting the museum directly.
