About MAPS Museum

The Museum of Archaeology, Paleontology & Science in New Port Richey invites visitors to explore interactive exhibits spanning human history and natural science. Guests encounter archaeological artifacts from Egypt, Greece, Rome, Africa, and the Americas, including one of North America's largest Pre-Columbian collections. Dinosaur fossils showcase T-Rex, Triceratops, Ankylosaur, and Hadrosaur bones. Additional exhibits feature rocks and minerals, marine archaeology from shipwrecks, a King Tut tomb recreation, a rare 2,000-year-old indigenous dugout canoe, space history including an authentic Space Shuttle tile, and the Dr Rinker Collection with a gorilla skull and African artifacts. Visitors witness active conservation in the Paleontology Prep Lab, where specialists use air scribes to free dinosaur bones from rock, and in the Marine Archaeology Lab. Self-guided audio tours are available Saturdays, while docent-led tours occur Sundays. Group and school programs run Mondays and Fridays. Tickets are sold online at mapsmuseum.org, with admission prices published on the website.
