About International Museum of Art

The International Museum of Art occupies a Victorian-style mansion designed by architect Henry C. Trost in 1908, located in El Paso's historic Rio Grande District. Visitors explore rotating exhibitions of local, regional, and international artwork throughout the home's elegantly appointed rooms. The building features original 1909 floors and woodwork, Art Deco stained glass windows, and Neo-Classical Greek Revival columns that reflect the eclectic tastes of its original owners, State Senator William Turney and his wife Iva. The museum offers free guided tours by request, along with gallery talks and lectures about featured artists. The mansion also houses a mid-century auditorium on the lower level and a parlour area with original period details on the main floor. Art education programs support the museum's mission to encourage visual arts in the region. The International Museum of Art welcomes visitors Thursday through Sunday at its location in El Paso, Texas.
