About Ice Chalet

Ice Chalet is a recreational skating rink in Knoxville where visitors skate on a 75-by-175-foot ice surface. Founded in 1962, the facility offers public skating sessions, along with instruction through the Robert Unger School of Ice Skating for all ages and abilities. The rink hosts hockey and curling activities, and the renowned Robert Unger Competition has taken place here annually since 1969. Show skating programs include the annual Nutcracker On Ice performance, a holiday tradition featuring skaters of various skill levels. The skating school provides practice ice and private lessons alongside off-ice training resources. The facility maintains dressing rooms with rubber matting throughout, and the rink area stays at approximately 50 degrees. Cafe Chalet in the lobby serves food and drinks during busy evenings and weekends. Ice Chalet is located in Knoxville, Tennessee beside Western Plaza on Kingston Pike.
