About Historic Collinsville
Historic Collinsville in Southside, Tennessee, transports visitors to pioneer life through a 40-acre settlement featuring 16 restored log homes and outbuildings. Visitors explore the Pioneer Settlement using a self-guided audio tour accessed through QR codes at the Visitor Center. The Weakley House Museum, added in 2024, offers hourly guided tours showcasing the founders' lives and artifacts including an extensive quilt collection, weaving equipment, and arrowheads discovered while farming the property. Authentic period furnishings and documents in most buildings illustrate rural life before and after the Civil War. The open-air setting suits families and school groups seeking hands-on history education. Visitors bring picnics to enhance their experience of how people lived when work was constant, food came from gardens and livestock, and goods were handmade.
