About Hauberg Estate

Hauberg Estate is a Prairie-style mansion and gardens in Rock Island where visitors tour the architecturally significant house and explore grounds designed by landscape architect Jens Jensen. The mansion, designed by Robert Spencer, features Arts and Crafts interior details including stained glass. Visitors attend weekly mansion tours on Fridays and join historical lecture series programs. The estate hosts seasonal native plant sales where guests can purchase plants for their gardens. Children participate in treasure hunts at the mansion and virtual scavenger hunts, with educator resources available for school groups. The grounds include a formal rose garden and ponds. The estate also operates as a venue rental space for weddings and celebrations, and offers Andrew's Place, an overnight rental option. Listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1972, the Hauberg Estate became a Designated Local Rock Island Landmark in 2016. A nonprofit foundation oversees preservation and restoration efforts at the property.
