About Hattie Weber Museum

The Hattie Weber Museum in Davis features exhibits depicting the history and heritage of Davis and the surrounding area. Visitors explore permanent exhibits including Native Americans on Putah Creek, the Jerome Davis Ranch, the history of Davis's first library building and its longtime librarian Hattie Weber, the coming of the railroad in 1868, and the arrival of UC Davis in 1906. The museum also displays twenty historic panels. The current exhibit, Davis Marks the Page, showcases a collection of bookmarks from local businesses and facilities, including historic bookstores such as The Avid Reader, Bogey's Books, Logos Books, and Barry's Used Books, along with bookmarks from toy stores, the UCD Arboretum, and libraries. Many bookmarks are colorful and attractively designed. Visitors are invited to search their own books for possible donations or loans to the exhibit. The museum is located at the northeast corner of Central Park in Davis, California, and admission is free.
