About California Agriculture Museum

California Agriculture Museum houses the nation's most unique collection of tractors and artifacts spanning California's agricultural history from the Gold Rush era onward. Visitors walk through galleries and corridors lined with harvesters, wheel tractors, crawler track-type tractors, combines, trucks, and photo galleries that document the evolution from horse-drawn machines to steam-driven and fuel-powered equipment. Interactive exhibits and storytelling tell the farm-to-fork history of how California food producers expanded agricultural operations at scale. Groups and schools can arrange guided tours led by volunteer docents who share knowledge about early California mechanization and preservation efforts. The museum sits in Woodland, California, about fifteen minutes from downtown Sacramento. General admission is free. Families may bring packed lunches to eat in the kid's zone or courtyard, and leashed, well-trained dogs are welcome.
