Harrington House Historic Home in Amarillo is a Neoclassical mansion completed in 1914 by cattlemen John and Pat Landergin. Visitors tour the house to see its fine furnishings, decorative arts, and vintage designer costumes displayed throughout the rooms. The Reception Hall features an 18th-century parquet de Versailles floor, original tapestry wall covering, and a 1697 relief-carved pine mirror. The Library showcases quarter-sawn oak paneling, leaded glass details, and a portrait of Mrs. Sybil Harrington. The Drawing Room centers on an ornate fireplace and mantel. Throughout the home, visitors encounter George III-style gilt wood mirrors, mahogany pocket doors, French doors, and French and English furniture. Fine paintings, porcelain, crystal, and silver complement the carefully preserved architectural details and original silk damask wall coverings. The house was acquired in 1940 by Don and Sybil Harrington, prominent oil and gas industry leaders who preserved and enhanced the property.
