The Don Harrington Discovery Center in Amarillo features hands-on exhibits, live animals, and a full-dome planetarium where visitors explore science and nature across all ages. The Space Theater transports guests through space to examine black holes, stars, and planets, or back in time to investigate ancient civilizations and coral reefs. Rotating exhibits cover topics from careers in STEM to time travel, with new displays rolling out each fall, spring, and summer. The center houses live creatures including lizards and other animals integrated into its exhibits. Beyond the indoor attractions, visitors can see the Helium Monument outside, marking Amarillo's connection to the helium industry. The center offers educational field trips, summer day camps, Saturday science camps, and Discovery Fridays programming for children. Birthday parties and private event rentals are available at the facility. Hours and admission charges are published online.
