About Greenlee County Historical

The Greenlee County Historical Society Museum in Clifton preserves and interprets the heritage of Greenlee County through exhibits of historic artifacts, documents, photographs, and objects related to the county's past. Visitors explore displays housed in the Eagle Hall, a 1913 building constructed by Antonio and Ambrose Spezia and designated as a historic landmark. The structure retains much of its original interior and exterior detailing, including elaborate cornices and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles designation. The upper level, historically used as a community meeting room and dance hall, remains part of the museum experience. The society's mission centers on collecting, preserving, and disseminating historically significant materials for present and future generations through research, educational programs, and preservation advocacy. The museum welcomes visitors interested in local Arizona history and the stories of Greenlee County's development. General admission is free, and the museum opens on Saturdays for public visits.
