About EAC Discovery Park Campus

Eastern Arizona College's Discovery Park is a 120-acre outdoor education and research facility in Safford that combines science, technology, and desert exploration. Visitors hike sandy wash trails with steep hills and shaded riparian areas, or play disc golf throughout the grounds. The park hosts guided tours of the Mount Graham International Observatory, where visitors observe advanced astronomical instruments during all-day adventures suited to education groups and astronomy enthusiasts. The EA Biology Department uses Discovery Park for field classes in native vegetation, Global Information Systems, and Environmental Drone Training. The community participates in STEM activities including rocketry, environmental youth camps, and science festivals with the Gila Watershed Partnership. The park includes a ranarium for reintroducing endangered species and conference facilities. The Ranch House venue accommodates corporate meetings, conferences, and gatherings. General admission is free, and observatory tour tickets are sold online through the venue's website.
