Everson Museum of Art in downtown Syracuse houses more than 10,000 works of American art, ceramics, video, drawings and graphics spanning painting to sculpture. Visitors explore current exhibitions such as On My Own Time, a juried show of works by amateur artists across Central New York professions, and Rich Harrington: Fissure, examining how personal identity forms through family, objects and place. The building itself, designed by I.M. Pei, functions as a sculptural work of art. The museum offers Pay-What-You-Wish admission on Wednesdays all day and Thursday evenings from 5 to 8 pm. Workshops and gallery talks accompany exhibitions; past offerings included mosaic pumpkin classes and creative studios. Thanks to M&T Bank sponsorship, seniors 65 and older and students with valid ID receive free admission on Sundays through December 27, 2026, according to everson.org. The museum is located at the corner of Harrison and South State Streets.
