Escalon Museum in Escalon, California preserves the city's local history through exhibits and artifacts displayed in its Main Street location. Visitors explore displays related to the town's heritage, including its agricultural, dairy, business, and railroad transportation background. The museum features Escalon's first fire bell, used from 1903 to 1923, positioned next to the building in recognition of volunteer firemen. An Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad caboose sits nearby in Main Street Park, marking the site of the original Santa Fe depot from the late 1890s. A mural on the museum's exterior wall, painted by artist Alexandra Riddle, depicts the community's rich heritage. Commemorative plaques honor the first fire station built in 1930 and house the department's first fire engine, a 1916 model. Engraved bricks throughout the grounds memorialize local businesses, families, and fire department volunteers who have contributed to Escalon since 1912. The Escalon Historical Society operates the museum and hosts community events including Reminisce Day gatherings.
