About CFA Foundation / Feline Historical Museum
The CFA Foundation's Feline Historical Museum in Alliance, Ohio preserves the history of pedigreed cats and the cat fancy through exhibits, artifacts, and an extensive library. Visitors explore educational displays tracing cat history through "From Fancy Cats to Cat Fancy," and the museum occasionally features special breed presentations and live cats. The collection includes over 8,500 books about cats, historical cat magazines, and breed histories. Museum artifacts span from an 1883 pewter nut bowl awarded as first prize at the Boston Cat Show to an 1895 Cosey collar. The library began in 1990 with 100 books and stud books, expanding through decades of acquisitions into one of the most significant collections of cat-related materials. Visitors interested in pedigreed cat history, show memorabilia, and the development of cat breeding will find detailed historical context throughout the galleries. The museum welcomes individual visitors and group tours by arrangement.
