About Carolyn Parr Nature Center

The Carolyn Parr Nature Center is a volunteer-run museum in Napa dedicated to educating visitors about the region's native natural environment. Visitors explore displays and exhibits constructed by volunteers while docents lead tours through the facility. The center hosts educational programming and special events throughout the year, including programs about raptors with live birds of prey, river otter ecology, and live bat demonstrations. Guests can observe native plants in the outdoor garden areas and learn about local ecosystems through interactive installations. Group tours and school classes can be scheduled during weekdays. The facility opens Wednesday afternoons and weekend afternoons. Founded in 1981 through a bequest from Carolyn Parr, the center operates entirely through volunteer staff and community support, serving visitors of all ages interested in learning about local wildlife and natural spaces.
