Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Educational Center is North Carolina 4-H's premier camping facility, where visitors participate in hands-on, experiential learning programs across nearly two hundred acres of forests, lakes, streams, and fields in the Piedmont. The center operates summer camp for youth ages eight through seventeen, including overnight programs and Leader-in-Training sessions for older campers. Educational field trips run one to three days in spring and fall, with classes aligned to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, including programs called Soaring Thru Spaces, Environmental Education, and O.R.I.E.N.T. The facility also hosts outdoor conferences and retreats featuring team building programs, a team course, and high ropes facilities, along with lodging, meeting space, and meal service. Visitors of all ages—from school groups to corporate teams—develop critical life skills through direct engagement with the outdoor environment. The center, established in Reidsville in nineteen sixty-four, holds American Camping Association accreditation and is operated through North Carolina State University.
