American Rail Bike Adventures offers rail bike excursions through York County on custom-built pedal-powered rail bikes designed by retired mechanical engineers. Visitors pedal their own bikes along railroad tracks, experiencing the outdoors while traveling through peaceful scenery. The operation began when volunteers combined their love of railroads with a historical design inspired by pedal-powered railcars from the 1880s. The company started with six custom-built bikes on the Stewartstown Railroad before expanding to a second location in Seven Valleys with twenty rail bikes on the Northern Central Railroad. Riders of various ages and abilities can participate in these excursions, which provide a relaxing, family-friendly way to explore the region's landscape. The attraction is located in Seven Valleys, Pennsylvania, just south of York and ten minutes off Interstate 83.
