About Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association

Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association preserves steam-powered farming equipment and educates visitors about agricultural history. Located in Mechanicsburg, the museum features a working sawmill, blacksmith shop, butcher shop, and farming demonstrations where visitors observe steam engines used for plowing, harvesting, and sawing, alongside early gas engines and tractors. The grounds include a Pennsylvania Railroad steam locomotive engine, a model railroad display, and a carousel undergoing restoration at Steam Engine Hill. The Williams Grove Railroad operates train rides through the property. A farmers flea market occupies the grounds, and seasonal events like the Steam Show and Fall Festival bring additional attractions. The association, formed in 1959, remains staffed by volunteers dedicated to demonstrating historical farming practices and equipment operation for families interested in agricultural heritage and mechanical history.
