Theater of the Sea is a marine park in Islamorada where visitors watch live shows and interact with animals in the lagoons. General admission includes dolphin, sea lion, parrot, fish, and reptile shows, plus access to a lagoon-side beach. The facility occupies three acres of natural salt-water lagoons fed daily with twelve million gallons of ocean water, home to dolphins, sea lions, sea turtles, tropical fish, sharks, stingrays, crocodiles, alligators, and parrots. Animal interaction programs let visitors wade with dolphins, swim with dolphins or sea lions, meet sea turtles or alligators, paint with dolphins or sea lions, or swim with rays and sharks. Many animals were rescued and deemed non-releasable; Theater of the Sea provides permanent care funded through visitor patronage. Guests typically spend two to three hours exploring the shows and programs. The park operates daily, and tickets are sold online through the venue's website.
Hours: Daily 9:15 a.m. E.S.T.
