About The Reher Center For Immigrant Culture and History
The Reher Center For Immigrant Culture and History preserves a historic bakery storefront at 101 Broadway in Kingston's Rondout neighborhood, where the Jewish immigrant Reher family operated their business for nearly a century. Visitors tour the historic retail shop and original oven room to learn how the bakery served working-class immigrant residents with bread, canned goods, and community connection. The center features indoor and outdoor exhibits that amplify immigrant stories of the Hudson Valley, past and present. The gallery hosts engaging programs and dynamic events throughout the year. Education programs serve K-12 students. Families with children ages five and up find the historic bakery tour experience well-suited to their needs. The center is located at the corner of Broadway and Spring Street in Kingston, New York, with gallery entrance through a small courtyard off Spring Street. Free parking is available on nearby Spring Street.
