About International Museum of Dinnerware Design
International Museum of Dinnerware Design in Kingston celebrates masterpieces of tabletop design from leading artists and designers worldwide. Visitors explore exhibitions featuring beautifully designed dinnerware, flatware, glassware, and dining-related artwork housed in gallery spaces. The current exhibition, Collecting by Design, showcases pieces acquired since the museum relocated to the Hudson Valley in 2024, including hand-embroidered cake slices, quirky ceramic lobster ware from the 1950s, contemporary artist creations, and a vintage Barbie kitchen. The museum also displays selections from the Jerryll Habegger flatware collection and a paper napkin collection from early 1900s parties, many with handwritten dates and original stains. Educational programming includes Zoom lectures in the Unforgettable Dinnerware lecture series. The museum operates Thursday through Sunday in Kingston's Mid-Town Arts District. Children under 12 accompanied by an adult and active military and veterans receive free admission, while general admission is available.
