About The Griffin-Spalding Historical Society
The Griffin-Spalding Historical Society preserves and shares the architectural, cultural, and historical heritage of Spalding County through research, documentation, and community education. Visitors tour the Bailey-Tebault House, the organization's headquarters since 1987, where exhibits and displays document the region's rich past. The house sits adjacent to the Mary Smalley Garden, established by The Garden Club of Griffin to honor Mary Smalley's contributions to the society and community. The organization hosts educational programs and events at the Bailey-Tebault House, including lectures on Griffin's history and genealogical society meetings held in partnership with the Spalding County Library. Groups can arrange private tours of the house for a small donation. Founded in 1969, the Griffin-Spalding Historical Society operates as a nonprofit cultural institution dedicated to educating residents about Spalding County's collective historical narrative. The society is located in Griffin, Georgia.
