About The Farmyard

The Farmyard is an educational petting zoo and forever home for farm animals in Bulverde, Texas. Visitors interact with horses, ponies, donkeys, mini horses, llamas, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, and a turkey during drop-in hours. Admission includes animal feed, with alfalfa available as a special treat. The property, originally homesteaded in the 1800s, features structures built 75 to 100 years ago, including a red barn, pavilions, and a century-old hay barn. Guided trail rides through hay fields, creek trails, and woods are available with limited capacity as the operation's horse herd has largely retired. Visitors should wear closed-toe shoes and clothes suitable for getting dirty. The rustic farm provides picnic tables under oak trees in the pony pasture for gatherings. The Farmyard also operates a mobile petting zoo, delivering animals to schools, churches, and community events.
