About The Assembly House

The Assembly House moves visitors through ever-changing sculptural environments, displays, and workshop spaces that celebrate art, architecture, preservation, and construction inside a former church in Buffalo. Guided tours on the second Friday and Saturday of each month reveal how students and makers are building this otherworldly destination alongside tradespeople, designers, and educators. The nonprofit offers skill-building programs including SACRA, a construction trades training program developed with the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, and Model City Builders, a high school initiative. The AHCraft Apprenticeship and University at Buffalo design studios also operate at the site. The Assembly House has received the Pillar of NY Award from the Preservation League of NYS and an international Great Places Award. It appears in "111 Places in Buffalo That You Must Not Miss" and on the cover of "The City Creative: The Rise of Urban Placemaking in Contemporary America." The site suits visitors interested in hands-on learning, contemporary art, and the building trades.
