About Nash House Museum

Nash House Museum is the former residence of Rev. J. Edward Nash, pastor of the Baptist Church, located in Buffalo, New York. Visitors tour the restored Victorian house to view Rev. Nash's sermons and letters, which document crucial aspects of Buffalo's African American community history and were written within these walls. The museum exhibitions explore citywide history, untouched spaces preserved for decades, and family treasures that illuminate early 1900s life on Buffalo's East Side. Guests can examine period furnishings, photographs, and personal artifacts throughout the rooms. The house opened as a museum in 2007 following restoration efforts by the Preservation Corporation. Guided tours are available on Saturdays, with other times by appointment. Groups larger than five should call ahead to arrange timed visits. Virtual tours are also available for those unable to visit in person.
