About Take Your Time Tours
Take Your Time Tours offers audio-guided explorations of Covington's filming history and historic sites. Visitors explore at their own pace on foot, by golf cart, or by car, following curated routes through town. The Ghost Tour visits some of Covington's oldest homes and historic streets, sharing tales connected to the properties and their former inhabitants. The Movie Tour revisits iconic filming locations from productions spanning decades, including scenes featuring Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds, with behind-the-scenes stories and trivia. The Vampire Diaries Tour focuses on locations from the series, including the Gilbert house, the Lockwood Mansion, and the Delena Rain kiss scene from Mystic Falls. The tour guide, a Covington local with extensive knowledge of the town's filming history dating to the 1990s, has developed relationships with producers, directors, and actors. These customizable audio tours suit fans of classic films, paranormal stories, and television series who want flexibility in how they experience the town's rich cultural heritage.
