About Southgate Park
Southgate Park is a 197-acre nature park where visitors explore diverse habitats on over five miles of natural trails without vehicle traffic. The park features open meadows, pine groves, forest, wetlands, and multiple lakes including Herron Pond, Horseshoe Lake, Mirror Lake, and North Lake. Visitors walk the Mindful Walk trail, observe wildlife, and fish in stocked catch-and-release ponds with a valid state fishing license. The historic Hartong Farmstead contains Southgate Farm, a working farm and market accessible from the Mount Pleasant entrance. The Twisted Olive Restaurant occupies a historic property within the park. In fall, the park hosts Twisted Wilderfest, a one-day festival featuring over seventy artisans and crafters, local food trucks, live music, and hayrides to the pumpkin patch. Leashed dogs are welcome on the trails. Restroom facilities are available throughout the park. Southgate Park is located in Canton, Ohio and opens at dawn each day.
