Southern Airboat Charters and Tours, Tallahassee

About Southern Airboat Charters and Tours

Southern Airboat Charters and Tours operates airboat tours across Tallahassee's freshwater rivers and lakes, where shallow-draft vessels navigate channels inaccessible to standard boats. Guests ride elevated seats on airboats gliding over shallow waters, reeds, and vegetation to reach wildlife viewing areas hidden from busy shorelines. Tours showcase local birds in flight, fish jumping at the surface, turtles basking on logs, wading birds hunting in shallow channels, and alligators on muddy banks. Experienced captains share insights about river routes, lake ecosystems, water quality indicators, invasive and native plant identification, and animal tracks along shorelines. The company maintains licensed vessels with proper safety equipment and keeps group sizes manageable for questions and wildlife observation. Tours suit residents exploring areas they've driven past for years and visitors seeking genuine connection with North Florida nature. Tickets are sold online through the company's booking site.
