About Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society

The Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society maintains the Dr. Willella Howe-Waffle House and Medical Museum, a property listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated as a California Historic Point of Interest. Visitors tour the historic house during open house events and learn about the life of Dr. Willella Howe-Waffle, an early Santa Ana physician. The museum showcases medical artifacts and historical items from the doctor's era. The society also preserves and promotes the history of early Santa Ana and its central role in the birth and growth of Orange County. Through publications and community events, the organization celebrates local history for both dedicated historians and curious residents. The house itself, restored to reflect its historical significance, stands as a landmark building on the City of Santa Ana's Historic Register. The society documents Santa Ana valley community heritage through its collection and educational programming.
