About Sanger Depot Museum
The Sanger Depot Museum occupies the historic Sanger Railroad Depot, built in 1887 and the oldest building in Sanger. Visitors explore exhibits documenting the town's transformation from a boomtown centered on lumber, grain, and citrus commerce to its current identity as the Nation's Christmas Tree City. The museum features the Indian Room and Pioneer Room, displaying artifacts from early settlement and regional history. A Victorian Home exhibit offers insight into residential life during the town's prosperous era. Additional exhibits include the Flume and information about the Nation's Christmas Tree, along with a Historic Photo Gallery. Collections titled When Wheat Was King and Growing up in the Depot present local heritage through artifacts and photographs. The museum is housed in the original Southern Pacific Railroad station, which once served the line running between Fresno and Porterville. Visitors can view displays documenting the region's railroad and agricultural heritage within this restored Victorian-era depot building.
