Sand Monsters is an off-road driving attraction on South Padre Island where visitors operate side-by-side vehicles on a half-mile track made of beach sand. The track spans four acres with multiple turns and challenges, and each driving session lasts about fifteen minutes including an introductory lap. The facility operates seven days a week with daytime hours and offers group night sessions by reservation. Visitors can drive adult vehicles including the Can-Am Maverick Trail 700 (two-seater) or Maverick Trail 1000 (four-seater), or choose the Polaris RZR 200 for younger drivers. The park also conducts guided sunset dune tours most evenings except Tuesdays, with riders arriving about forty-five minutes before sunset. First-time drivers receive assistance navigating the track. Sand Monsters welcomes walk-in visitors but prioritizes reservations, particularly for groups of two or more vehicles. The facility provides snacks, ice cream, and drinks, and offers courtyard rentals for parties and group events like birthday celebrations and team building.
