Pump House Center for the Arts occupies a Victorian Gothic building constructed in 1883 as the former Pumping Station for the Chillicothe Water and Sewer Company. The structure features a large central tower, Palladian windows, common-bond brick, and a low-pitched hipped slate roof. After decades of neglect, artists and preservationists restored the building, and it was designated part of Chillicothe's Preservation District in 1986. The rooms now function as a gallery space where visitors view rotating art exhibitions. The center hosts community events and programs throughout the year. The facility is staffed by volunteers working monthly shifts at the front desk. Located in historic Chillicothe, Ohio, the Pump House serves as a resource for the community's artistic and cultural growth, with the mission of preserving this architectural jewel for generations to come.
