About Pacific Offshore Expeditions

Pacific Offshore Expeditions operates all-day whale watching and marine exploration trips departing from Oxnard, California. The company runs specialized Killer Whale Quest expeditions and general whale watching tours through the Santa Barbara Channel and around the Channel Islands. Visitors board rigid hull inflatable boats including the 36-foot Shearwater with capacity for up to 19 passengers, the 30-foot Tern accommodating 12 people, or the 24-foot Petrel for groups of six or fewer. These vessels cruise at approximately 30 miles per hour to reach remote locations rarely visited by typical tourists, including the waters surrounding San Nicholas and Santa Barbara Island. Marine life encounters include orcas, humpback whales, sperm whales, and Dall's porpoise, with the Santa Barbara Channel's unique bathymetry supporting exceptional diversity and numbers of marine mammals. The Channel Islands themselves provide scenic backdrop for these expeditions, offering eight islands for exploration.
