Oaklands Mansion is a historic house museum in Murfreesboro where visitors take self-guided tours through rooms that explain how the space was used during different periods and how many individuals lived and worked at the site. A staff member greets visitors, provides a brief history, and remains available to answer questions throughout the tour. The mansion features exhibits including Victorian hair art and a spotlight on the collection. Educational programs and classes are offered through the cottage classroom. After touring the main house, visitors explore Oaklands Park, a native tree arboretum and natural wetlands that includes Maney Spring, heritage gardens, and native gardens. The grounds accommodate service animals and leashed pets. A video tour of the second floor is available in an adjacent theater for those unable to climb stairs. Self-guided tours are available Tuesday through Friday at multiple time slots, with a recommended duration of forty-five minutes to one hour.
