About National Ranching Heritage Center

The National Ranching Heritage Center in Lubbock is a 27-acre museum and historical park where visitors roam 19 acres of the Foy Proctor Historical Park to explore over 200 years of ranching history. The site contains 55 ranching structures dating from the 1780s to the 1950s. An indoor museum features curated exhibits on ranching culture and values, including displays on notable figures like football icon Sam Baugh. The Cash Family Ranch Life Learning Center showcases Hank the Cowdog's M-Cross Ranch, based on author John R. Erickson's book series. Weekly programming includes Toddler Tuesdays, Living History Saturdays with demonstrations, Summer Trolley Tours, and the Ranch Life Summer Series. Visitors can explore exhibits on contemporary ranching issues and the industry's history. General admission is free.
