About NATIONAL POW/MIA MEMORIAL & MUSEUM

The National POW/MIA Memorial & Museum honors former Prisoners of War and service members Missing in Action and unaccounted for. Visitors explore museum exhibits, videos, artifacts and memorabilia that share their stories and preserve their memory. The museum features the Defense POW-MIA Accounting Agency Room, a Prisoner of War Exhibit, and displays about POWs, MIAs and families then and now. It also presents the history of the POW/MIA emblem and Naval Air Station Cecil Field's role as a master jet base. The Chapel of the High-Speed Pass serves military personnel, veterans and families with religious services, ceremonies, weddings and memorial events, and includes the Missing Man Pew honoring those unaccounted for. The grounds feature Heroes' Walk and Freedom Trees, a Vietnam War Memorial, and the Gold Star Families Memorial. The Cecil Field Legacy Plaza and Memorial is currently under construction. Located on 26 acres in Northeast Florida at the former Cecil Commerce Center in Jacksonville, the facility opens the third Saturday of each month.
