About Monterey Museum of Art

Monterey Museum of Art operates two locations featuring exhibitions of American, California, and contemporary painting, photography, and mixed media. Visitors explore rotating galleries at the Pacific Street location across from historic Colton Hall in Old Monterey, while the La Mirada site showcases a historic estate with lavish rose gardens available for special events. The museum offers Sketching in the Galleries, a free program with admission, and curator-led Afternoon with the Curator sessions where guests engage directly with exhibitions. Educational programming includes group tours, family activities, and art camps designed for various audiences. A sculpture park with wheelchair access sits between Pacific and Calle Principal Streets. The museum is located in Monterey, California. Bicyclists who show their helmet receive fifty percent off admission on Thursday, paying seven dollars fifty instead of fifteen dollars, according to montereyart.org.
