About Laws Railroad Museum & Historical Site
Laws Railroad Museum & Historical Site occupies an 11-acre parcel near Bishop featuring the original 1883 railroad depot alongside more than 50 historical buildings and structures. Visitors explore indoor and outdoor exhibits filled with artifacts from Owens Valley's mining and railroad heritage, including the narrow-gauge Slim Princess locomotive with original boxcars and caboose, authentic 20 Mule Team Borax wagon replicas, mining equipment and ore processing mills, restored dump wagons, and the 1883 Agent's House. The Death Valley Brill Car No. 5, built in 1927, offers train rides on select weekends. The Mule Museum and various hands-on demonstrations showcase traditional skills and trades. Museum members receive free admission, excluding special events. During the Laws Good Ole Days community event, paranormal investigation tours are available at a discounted rate.
