Lanterman's Mill and its adjacent Covered Bridge stand as historic landmarks within Mill Creek MetroParks in Youngstown. Built between 1845 and 1846, the mill operated as a gristmill and features a distinctive waterfall visible from Canfield Road. The current structure is the third mill constructed on the property, which was originally founded by John Young. Visitors explore the mill's interior, which contains a historical museum on the first floor and a massive water wheel on the lowest level that still churns water. The Covered Bridge, reconstructed in 1989, originally served farmers transporting grain to the mill and overlooks the creek below. The site suits families on field trips learning about Youngstown's history, photographers capturing senior pictures, engagement photos and wedding pictures, and hikers exploring nearby trails.
