The John E. Conner Museum, located on the Texas A&M University-Kingsville campus, explores the history and culture of South Texas through permanent and temporary exhibits. Visitors view wildlife photography in the gallery and learn about regional heritage through displays including the Javelina Heritage exhibition, which features memorabilia and artifacts related to South Texas wildlife and traditions. The museum occupies Loftin Hall, the university's original student dining hall, which has housed the collection since 1976. The museum began in 1925 when history professor John Edwin Conner started gathering items documenting the region's story. School groups and community organizations can arrange guided tours. The museum welcomes families, students, and anyone interested in understanding the distinctive character of South Texas through its collections and changing exhibitions.
Admission is free. The venue says: “Free Admission”
Hours: Mon-Fri 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Sat 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Sun Closed
