About Garden of the Sun

Garden of the Sun Demonstration Garden in Fresno showcases diverse plantings across multiple themed areas. Visitors explore an orchard of fruit trees, vines, and berries alongside beds of vegetables and herbs. The garden features perennials, small space gardening demonstrations, All-America Selections plants, a sun and shade garden, and a native plant garden. A knot garden displays ornamental herb plantings suited to the region's climate. Specialty gardens accommodate children and visitors with physical accessibility needs. The children's garden includes a scavenger hunt activity. Throughout the year, Master Gardeners offer free classes to the public covering various gardening topics. On select Saturdays, the garden opens with Master Gardeners present to answer visitor questions about gardening. The demonstration garden was designed by landscape designer Robert Truxell and reflects UC Master Gardeners of Fresno County's mission to provide horticultural education and inspiration to the community.
