About Fossil Rim Wildlife Center

Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, Texas, is a 1,800-acre wildlife park where visitors drive through open terrain to observe more than 1,100 animals representing 50 plus species of native and non-native animals. Guests can choose between a self-guided 7.2-mile drive through the Texas Hill Country at their own pace or a guided Safari Tour in an open-air vehicle led by an expert guide. The park features Animal Discoveries, an exhibit area halfway through the drive at the Overlook, where visitors view and compare the behavior of domestic species like sheep and goats alongside native and exotic animals including African spurred tortoises and black-footed cats. The facility also offers the Texas Trail and Mark's Nature Trail for short hiking explorations. Visitors can dine at the Overlook Cafe, browse the Nature Store, or stay at the Lodge or Safari Camp. The park operates daily and is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website.
