About Fayetteville State University Planetarium

Fayetteville State University Planetarium presents science shows displayed on a 30-foot dome using ten 4K projectors. Visitors watch live presentations led by astronomers who answer questions about the universe. The planetarium features shows including Home Away from Home, which explores exoplanets, Fall Sky Over Fayetteville, and Say NO to Black Holes. The projection system delivers more pixels per square inch on its dome than any other planetarium in the world, creating crisp stars and a dark night sky. Beyond public shows, the planetarium hosts Space Camp for students and the Sandhills Astronomy Club, which meets monthly on the third Thursday. Club members access the Observatory located on the fourth floor of Lyons Science. The planetarium also presents musical shows such as Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website. The planetarium is located in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
