Discovery Center Museum is a children's museum in Rockford, Illinois with over 300 hands-on exhibits where visitors climb, build, explore, and discover through interactive play. The museum's featured exhibit, Grow! Nature Grows Character, is a 3,000-square-foot immersive environment designed for families to engage together in a nature-inspired setting. A makerspace operates on select days, offering crafts and creative activities. The outdoor Rock River Discovery Park opens during regular museum hours when weather permits. Special events throughout the year include activities like Slimy (Spooky) Science, where visitors create slime at multiple stations, paint with slime, and watch science demonstrations. All children must be accompanied by an adult during visits. The museum is located in downtown Rockford within the Riverfront Museum Park campus, near the Rockford Art Museum and Burpee Museum of Natural History. The facility is fully accessible with ramps, elevators, and accessible restrooms.
